![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Happy little Polka Pals!
And just what do you have to say about it? Hey Impor, It's me your little schnizle from the old country. I want to send you a dirty Christmas card. Can you please email me your address. Kisses, Monie PolkaBoy- One of the HOTTEST bands in Indianapolis has YOUR link in their link section of their webpage. That's how I found out about you guys. How about putting in a link of theirs- www.polkaboy.com on YOURS???
They have an awesome rendition of funky cold medina called funky polka-weena! And their version of the instrumental Tequila (think Pee wee herman) has words and is an alcoholic masterpiece!
Let us know when polkacide passes thru the Midwest - or if you want venue suggestions.
Okay the Talk of the Town show has been canceled (lost their liqueur license) see you all in the spring of 03
There are some BE'ER NOW shirts leftover from our summer and fall tours. They are limited additions and we don't have all the sizes, so ask Maggie what she has left.
Polka Til Ya Puke
Johnny Okay my polka bruddas, sisters, slutz and bratz. Our last show of the year (Bay area or otherwise) will be 11/23 at the Talk of the Town in Oaktown (see the calendar link) We probably won't be playing anywhere else until the spring - I myself might be spending my holidays in the town of Amboy on route 66 (pop. 20). Thanks to all our polka pals for all my lost brain cells and whatever any thing else the rest of the band can remember. Thanks to our great friends in the Polkaholics and a belated congrats to Dandy Don and his wife Vera on the birth of their daughter Ava Mila Hedeker who was born at 5:48pm on Tuesday September 24.
Polka in 2003 - you betcha
OK little polka pals – polkacide is winding down for 2002 . Tomorrow (10/19) at the Thirsty Bear in SF (OktoBEERfest) starting around 1 and the Talk of the Town in Oaktown (11/23). There are a few more BE’ER NOW shirts available (a couple doz and when they’re gone they are gone). We haven’t polkaed the city since January and the thirsty bear will be it for this year (plus we will be done in time to watch the Giants in the World Series). Polka polka polka polka polka polka Hey dare! I almost got pelted with a cabbage at teh last frat party you guys played at. Just cause I wanted to use da bat room. Come to Oregon, 'k? Love, Jennifer I flew all the way to Seattle from Miwaukee to see your show (teehee) and once again, you didn't disapoint! I noticed your cool Polkacide "colors" on the back of those jackets. Who do I have to sleep with to get one of those? Thanks for giving me the opportunity to "represent" Milwaukee on the West coast with my expert polka moves. Word. Hello, all you way cool polka heads (with international connections, I'm sure!)! I need your help! I am trying to get the word out about a very cutting edge PolishFest to be held in Upstate NY on October 5 and 6, 2002. The goal of this festival is to help people see the intrinsically hip nature of Polish culture. The web link for PolishFest is http://home.earthlink.net/~bvmc/polishfest/
Do you have any advice or helpful hints? Thanks!!! I was there at the Cotati Accordian Fest yesterday (8/25) as I have been for the 12 years it's been happening and, just like every other year that Polkacide has attended, they were the hi-lite! They put the foam in your beer and the bounce in your belly and Dick (Contino) in his place! My daughter, now 19, has gone with me each of those 12 years and was really excited when I bought your cd because she's been wanting to turn her friends on to this crazy polka band. Bonding with Polkacide!Anything is possible! Thanks for all the crazy fun...especially the Circle Dance! hey - yer link to the NPR story is not too good, maybe it could say
http://search.npr.org/cf/cmn/segment_display.cfm?segID=141180
see you guys at the Portland Oktoberfest! TDA and Brave Combo too!!!!!
Dave Richoux Well, twas nice to see the Polka Casserole at Schroeder's last week, although I was just too shy to ask the faux-Slutz (not like your old crew from the 80s!!) to tango. Big Lou still looks & plays great, but I miss her with "the 'Cide".
Looking forward to Cotati, YEAH!!
Chill me up some N.A. St. Paulis & put some Viagra in my red cabbage, baby...The Hawk's flyin' into th' POLKA PIT!!
BTW, did Dudzo ever bring back the kishka?? Omega - Ward has been told about Emily's post and yes we all agree he needs a computer - on an Abronski family note - sorry we missed Linda on the midwest tour haven't seen her since the early 80s (and I haven't been in touch with cousin Al in a long while, my bad) it was great to see Ray Sr (Dad) in Cleveland, and his quote that Ward and I deserve each other was brilliant.
Stan - I promise to get some XXL shirts soon.
Hawkeye - see you in Cotati hopefully we'll play in the City soon
Thanks James and Dave it was a polka good time playing with both of you
Thanks Michole and the Slater sisters you guys are the best (can I summer in Wisc?)
sep, Mike Ball and Zach thanks for coming out
sick@heart and polkamomma - ahh yeah - I feel my pain
Will y'all please urge Ward to accept computers - he didn't know his niece had posted here! From Johnny Nieuguyski's new number one fan. I knew him when he was Johnny Teenagerguyski. Glad to see he hasn't changed. Hoping to hear you play, and dance to that fabulous polka beat. I will wear my new Polkacide t-shirt with pride. MY UNCLE IS IN THIS BAND HE'S THE GREATEST I LOVE YOU JUST WARD Any chance that you would have your t-shirts in XX-L size. I'd love to get one but the XL won't do it.
Thanks! Welcome back from Da Midwest! I've been going through Polka withdrawal all summer. Looking forward to Cotati... Yes, I echo the Polkaholics in saying "Big Lou's Polka Casserole says Thanks for sharing the stage in Chicago and Cleveland(to say nothing of sharing the horn players) It's a sad state of affairs when Californians have to show the Midwest how to polka!
Dave the Bass Player 9 of the BEST muscians on the planet- and I got to play with them!! Polkacide- all of you are the nicest, coolest, hardest working, wonderful people I've ever met. It was a honor to play with all of you and I hope that we can do it again.
You kick polka butt!!
Love
Jolly James- Polkaholics Loved having you here in Cleveland! Come back real soon!!! We love polka in this town. More and more pierogies! Dear Polka People,
Thank you for thoroughly "polking" us on your recent trip to Milwaukee.
Please come back and we'll talk philisophy over Kielbasa and Blatz. Or perhaps a can of kraut juice for the tea tottlers.
You brought out the spirit of polka to our humble town. I hope our display of adoration was worthy of your shear Godliness (and Godessness).
We love you!
Jennifer and Rebecca
Hey! We're on the road in Milwaukee - Chicago area, and the guys (and gal) have done a fantastic job wowing the crowds! Their television appearance in Chicago was especially well done with more air time given to them than Jimmy Buffet. And speaking of buffet...if ever in Milwaukee we know the best all-you-can-eat places to go although they say that Neilbasa and his cuz can never return ever again. Ever. (h-m-m-m, wonder why?) They have been officially dubbed America's #1 Polka Party band and you can see why. The crowds here have been waiting for their return ever since the Spring Tour 2000. Kudos to Dandy Don for his great polka spirit and assistance in organizing this whole mad enterprise. Tonight Evanston, Tuesday Iowa City, and Friday Cleveland (rumors abound that Drew Carey will make an appearance onstage to steal the kieshka...and of course, we WILL kick his ass!) Hope someone from SF makes it here - I need someone who REALLY knows how to slam dance polka to come out on the dance floor with Gary and I! (you know you really should...they are amazing on this trip - except for Johnny who yelled at me.)
Kisses from the front line,
Polkamomma Very succinct Mike, thanks for your input! Yo, Midwesterners! Have you guys got any ideas on the cultural high points we should seek out while in the Heartland? You know, like the loose meat sandwich place behind the capitol in Des Moines, or The House on the Rock, or the best place for brats and blood sausage in Milwaukee??? A nice place to stay on our travel day from Iowa City to Cleveland? We're rubes from the tulles out here in the Golden State. Oh, good places for breakfast anywhere. Thanks for your help, me and my cuz really appreciate it! I get it. You can cheat ON me, but not WITH me.
Please send me a signed volume of your ethics. You know, when you finish them. i used to get beat up in high school back in the 80s by hardcore and jock kids alike for playing POLKACIDE outloud (and proud)... and NOW... those same sorry bastards are the ones lulling their kids to sleep with POLKACIDE's CD while i'm still spinning the original vinyl... i'm sure i'll still get beaten up when i show my ugly mug when i return home to see you guys play... but it'll be worth it! will i be allowed to convulse in front of the stage in the stagnate beer remnants of POLKACIDE's liquid lunch? Damn, i hope so.. thanks for putting the "pee" back in "punk" and "polka"... It's not just adults that dance themselves silly to Polkacide. Your music is hot in the pre-school scene as well. I've been to several 4th birthday parties where the kids danced to your CD again and again. In fact, my niece asked for another copy for her 5th birthday. Egészségedre, Impor! János Oh man am I embarassed!! I've been contacted by the Albany, Oregon Chamber of Commerce and if I don't rectify the horrible mistake I made they're gonna sue the pants off me!! I said, mistakenly, the Novak's Hungarian Restaurant is in Lebanon....its in Albany!! So there! And we still missed out on the apricot brandy!! I've seen a lot of live music but after seeing yous guys
in Madison AND Milwaukee in Spring 2000 everthing else just dripped! Now you are comming back? For a guy who doesn't pray I may start. The Dereszynski's and me will see yous there.
Thankx for remembering the Midwest.
Mike Dear Impor, I hear Polkacide might be playing at the Clam Box in Newburyport, MA. Say it's so. Me and my family are in need of some Polka while we eat our fried clams. You see were new here in town and no one here Polka's. Well let us know and in the mean time I'll be fluffing up my crinalin.
Love, Monie and Sean-O Ay ay ay!!! We missed out on the barack pálinka! We must return to Lebanon, Oregon that is....The strudel was good! Mr Hisky, did your group partake of the barack pálinka? 4 or 5 of those and you're ready for more cabbage!!!
János PORTLAND POLKAS!!! The PDX Polka Party 2002 at The Old Norse Hall was polkariffic! Thanks to Ted, the Portland Polka king and publicity master for all the hospitality. We met so many great folks its enough to give you hope for the world in these dismal times....... We shall return to The Rose City and polka your hearts out coming in September and that's a threat and a promise!! By the way, if you're out in the Midwest the end of June we are coming your way like a Polka Avalanche!! You have been warned! Keep spreading the Polka Love!!!!
PS. If you're hungry in Lebanon Oregon, check out Novak's Hungarian Restaurant! Love those cabbage rolls first thing in the morning! The food was so good and filling we made it the rest of the way back to Frisco on only one PowerKraut Bar between the four of us!! Release the Awesome Power of Cabbage!! I habe ihre Name auf dem Radio (NPR) gehoeren. I will ihre music horen, und wird ein Album kaufen wann finde ich ein. Polka on Sie verruckter Diamonds.
-Kevin ...what elliot forgot to add is that there is a whole cult of 2 and 3 years old's mothers who use P-cide to lull the little ones into submission!!!!! lookit: polka is good for kiddies too
you won' believe this- i took my little polka princess (age 3) to a birthday party for a 4 year old. house full of screaming kids, faces covered with birthday cake. round about 2, mass sugar crash- they all start whining and wailing about it. so this so-smart-hostess-mom announces:
IT'S POLKA TIME
and busts out a polkacide CD. so all these little tykes stop bashing eachother and start bopping and polka-ing around the room with squeals of delight while they steal that ole kishka.
and i thought becoming a parent meant my polkacide days would be over..... Way cool...smooth and quirky...but that Johnny Jack dude is weird! Sure hope that the tour as promised on the Polkacide homepage winds its way through Phoenix before returning to the Bay Area. But you'd better hurry. If you wait until July it'll be 115 degrees and you'll be roasted in your own lederhosen.
We've all been very, very good in the Valley of The Sun and would be overjoyed to touch the hem of Polkacide's garments! i really like it. *bounce* *bounce* *bounce* *bounce* *bounce*
I just moved to Portland, and the polka is coming to us! *bounce* *bounce*
So does the NY show count as the most compact polka party?
See Polkacide in Portland, Oregon, Saturday, April 6th.
http://pdxpolka.com Polkacide is one of the best Polka groups right now... my opinion.
Do you ever come out to Massachusetts to play shows? I would be very excited to be able to see you play here... By the way: I'm 21, and constantly listening to you or Frankie Yankovic (Too Fat Polka).
What would anyone think about a group that played Polka beats and accordian, lyrics like Pantera or similar, and had melodies like techno or trance? I have been working on starting a group like this for a couple months, and was wondering if it would be worth the time... please get back to me with your opinion.
Thank you
Angelo Marotto
-Polkacide and SpongeBob SquarePants go great together! Thank God in his Beerless Heaven!!! Very glad to learn that Polkacide is still kicking it (kicking in an um-pa way, not a trendy Yo MTV Raps crapper way).
This has cheered me as nothing else has, since learning that Colorblind James died last July. :(
Lemme know if you ever want to taste some REAL beer--- I'll treat you to Guinness down at my local.
Peace
Mick in Dublin
Paul, Enron? I would prefer Dr. Basa's PowerKraut bar for my energy. sell me one of your hats for cheap and ill sell you the entire enron corporation for low blue book. oops.. I read the post wrong...
Polkacide hasn't been banned, right?
i'm soo confused right now
anyway...great site
great music
e-laterz Have u really been banned back east?
That's terrible:( I guess I'll have to take Road Trip to the WestCoast!
Any tips for a young-all girl- rockin-polka band? (The Polka Hots) I was thinking maybe bringing back the Lawrence Welk Show---but for a younger generation.
Great Sounds Page-

I've been banished to the East Coast for 10 years, and I finally realized that Polkacide is still going. Thank God. And thanks for the album and the fun show I saw in S.F. way back when (Deaf Club? Sound of Music? FabMab? I don't remember).
But thanks especially for the show at the oh-so-proper Octoberfest at a Marin County mall (I was there with the girlfriend and her parents). The perky, gray-haired dancers in their lederhosen were aghast at the Polka Sluts, the skin, the leather and the sheer volume. But you proved you could polka, and the old folks came back out to the dance floor.
It was a great moment in world history. will you ever play in Minnesota? Holy Shit, I was starting to think I hallucinated this band. 1986 I think at the Club Lingerie in LA with Rotundi and Wierd Al showd up and sang on stage with a bunch of us drunks. One of the best nights of my life! My liderhosen have never been the same. under 40 eh? i'm listening.... but Ms. Tique sounds suspiciously like a pseudonym, you are over 18 aren't you?
send pictures. When are you coming to the East Coast--namely the Baltimore/DC area? You ROCK my world (I am under 40, so that may be of interest to you.) Happy New Year! Thanks for an amazingly fun show last night. You were more fun than a barrelful of drunken Norwegians and ALMOST as fun as a game of hide the brautwerst. Give me (more) Polka! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Yeah Rat - the cacophony of christmas didn't go over so well but we had a good time (I was amused that we recorded it).
Wally D - The plan right now is that we'll be in portland in April so hold on to your Leiderhosen (hopefully we'll also do the ITSOKTODRINKBEERFEST again in September @ the portland brewery as was planned this year).
Happy new polka year - and to all a good KBS More Adoring & Inflammatory Comments: ![]() |
