What follows below is 10 years of archived fanmail for you to peruse. Fanmail 2003 - 2006 The one and only funny band... Just wanted to let ya know: Li'l Wally the KING of polka passed away on the 17th Well, I guess we have to play Chicago again soon... Thanks for the compliments. I know I speak for the rest of the band, most of them can't write so its up to me, we all had a fantastic time at Seven Springs. We kinda feel like we've made it into the real polka world after toiling out here in Frisco for all these years. I mean we have to play with punk bands and at accordion festivals and stuff like that! (Just kidding folks!) Everybody at the festival was so friendly and it was nice that if they didn't like us they stayed away and nobody threw anything! Also, important to a penny pinching Norwegian like me, the booze cost about half as much as it does here in the City. We gotta send out a very special thanks to Junior, Cath and all the Blazonczyks for having us come and play for you. We loved it! The whole festival experience was non stop fun from beginning to end. Thanks to Jeff from Dynabrass for the sound and all. You folks are the best. Hope to see ya next year! OY YESOOOUS! Saw y'all at Blazonczyk's Polka Fireworks Fest. at Seven Springs ! You guys were awesome! Hopefully, we see you again.....my daughter couldn't keep her eyes off you all! (Maybe it was those sausages hanging out of the leiderhosen! Hey Emily's uncle! i just wanted to say that i friggen love the weiner dog song polka dunkedy dlex! So in a nut shell.... come play at cypress bay prom!! we want you!!!
Dave Hey Uncle. I ws just srfing the web at school & this page popped up& veryon in my history class loved your music.
you should play at our prom.
LOVEYOU.
BEACH SOOONNN! Hey...when are you guys coming back to Chicago?!?!?! We really need you guys to come back here to kick some serious ass in this town!!! Talk about Easter/Passover/Ritual-Pagan-Holiday-of-Your-Choice Miracles!
Not only did my brand new, incredibly stylish Polkacide shirts arrive, but I was also able to revel in the beer-soaked, Polka-Slut-laden frenzy that was the oustanding performance at Bottom of the Hill! Thanks to "Mr. Maggie", Impor & Neil aka "Musclehead" for being my bodyguards & rescuing me from a potentially awful night of quaalude-ridden bad sex. When all was done, 'twas a LOVELY night...the only element missing was the lovely PolkaPal Beth (sigh). Beers to you all, Hawkeye. Well, due to family obligations, looks like I'm gonna miss BOTH 4/15!! Damn. Pray for my soul...MEA CULPA!! ...and tell that gal to give me a call...
Bless all you Polka Pals & Slutz! WHEW! Ok, so I missed the 20th, but THIS was the show I wanted to be at! What a set! What polkapals!BEEEYOOO-tiful PolkaSlutz! Too much & yet not enough....thanks so much for being the band that always cheers me up, for rolling out the barrels, & especially for not only doing what you do, but the way that you do it.......
Happy birthday, amigo (mine's 3/11).
Love & respect, "Hawkeye Joe" (Polkacide enthusiast since the Snakefinger /Farm gig) Hawkeye,
You and I share a birthday? Cool!
Cheers from the brassy side of the stage,
Nieuwgs How nice of you to celebrate my 45th brthday with a gig! I just might have to have a cerveza! Oh, and Ward's always been handsome, but not nearly as handsome as me & Niel. ;)
KIELBASA, BEER & SAUERKRAUT! We have to agree that "handsome" is a construct. Once we agree as to, uh, that, we need to deconscontruct that, uh, fucking construction. Are we agreed?
Right. The mathetical formulation will follow. "Handsomer than ever"...what? EverReady? Everclear? Handsomer WITH Everclear? Probably. Badoo--Stupid inbred hicks? I will muse on that as soon as I get my thumb out of my ass, fuck my sister's cousin's husband-uncle and go milk the cows.Wait--how do you spell "inbred" again?? Handsomer than ever! What else! you all are stupid inbred hicks. No...seriously Handsomer than what? Response to megish's post "Ward seems handsomer." Um...handsomer... than what??
Ward seems handsomer. Guess what? It's 7 freaking degrees here in Chicago today!! At least I can keep my beer outside to keep it cold!
I hope you are warmer out there on the left coast- Happy Holidays from your polka pal Jolly James!
I MISS ALL OF YOU DAMN IT!!! I keep missin' ya! ???? Just stumbled onto your site. This looks too cool! I look forward to hearing you guys soon. Best wishes polka guys.

you may have grown to suspect in the years of my absence from this message board and from the polka pit (once well-trod in my side-button boots and high collar waistcoats, drinking with youeth the well-making grog from the frosteth-covered mug) - that have become a just another old, sedentary, useless, dried up husk of a slut, sitting on the sidelines now watching/crying about the day of wine and roses...but no, alas, i have news for you, things i have been doing since i lost my way away from your magical magical realm...
i have managed to procure from my loins a prodigal tuba player, and she has been training hard, i mean HARD, since 6 months of age to become a virtuoso in the realm of polka tuba. i now, finally, after these years of sweat, do think FINALLY shes ready to sit in on the ole' wiener dog. and now that she is almost 3, and shes made it through her one hundred and fortieth recital, i think its high time for her Oktoberfest debut. I am wondering if you would mind letting her open (she does stellar rendidtion or pennsylvania too) this saturday at the boh. if not, well, you will just have to know that all these years of flogging and caning will have been wasted.
love you always.

I was at waterfront and it was awesome. I have never heard a actual polka band till now and man was it something. I was the head of a polka band in Back in Stevens point. We were called the Polish Mafia.
I would also like to add that the guy that puked on his buddy and his buddy were with me that night. And the windows stayed down the entire ride home.
Polka Never DIES WOW!! eXtreme Polka Weekend could not have been better! I LOVE ALL OF YOU POLKACIDE!! You are the BEST band on the planet and 9 of the nicest people that I have ever met.
Let's not wait another 3 years to play together again.
I miss all of you already!
Check out some photos here http://polkaboy.typepad.com/photos/__extreme_polka_2005/
POLKA ON!!
Jolly James OK Polkapals, since we don't have a blog spot I'm gonna post this here including all my crappy spelling mistakes (English is very tricky)
What can I say? WE HAD SO MUCH FUN WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ARRESTED ! This might have been the best polkasafari ever ! Thanks to Dandy Don and the Polkaholics boys and their familys, everyone at the Zakapane, everyone at On The Waterfront, everyone at Taste of Polonia, and all the wonderful people who came out to dance the Polka, drink beer, and celebrate life with us on our trip ! My trip was especially rewarding as I got to see my whole family - who gathered in the Chicago area for a family reunion which coincided with the Polkacide trip. Finally, even though I wasn't traveling with the band on this trip because of that family reunion, I need to say publicly what a lucky, lucky Polack I am to be able to play with some of the best and goofiest musicians in the world, a group of polka-loons with whom I've had some of the best times in my life. Thanks to all you guys.
In Heaven there is no beer, that's why we drink it here !
ward Wow. Just saw you guys last night at Rockford Il's On the Waterfront. Im not really a polka fan to start but you guys were awesome... That was probably the most fun ive had at OTW ever... Look forward to your return to the area. I dotn know if you guys noticed but a kid on the left side of stage puked all his beers onto his buddy near end of last song...Hilarious...kielbausa beer and sauerkraut.
cc Saw the show at Zakopane last night ... a big potato. If you weren't there, grab some pine, meat. alright!! eagerly awaiting the Chicago shows!!! fuck yeah!!! Thank you Polkacide! for polka-rocking the Faux Queen Pageant. I wish they'd made the contestants get out and do a polka-down before the show. But then... that's just *my* fantasy, I'm sure. You had me shaking my rather ample south end, and bouncing it round and round. Who could hate that? We LOVE you. --Mable cant wait to see & rear the band in person .do you put out a schedule? It's been a long hot summer mit no polkas...perhaps der Cotati gig, ja? I am looking for lyrics for Sharon Polka, Cleveland Polks, O Marie Polka, Lieschtein Polka. They need to be in English. If you can help please send to tcharsez@adelphia.net. I play the accordion and I have a vocolist. We plan on performing at Kemper House in June. Thanks "Kielbasa People, Neil Basa; Hit Me!!!!!" As James Brown said live in Cleveland, Some saxophone-ing baldheaded bad-knee'd handsome fella never mentioned to this particular ex that there was such a thing as a 20th anniversary show (and just because I live hours away is no real excuse).
Here's to y'all! Damn straight Polkamamma! That was one helluva show! The band whipped the house into a 2/4 froth! I haven't sweat that much in an overheated sauna! Damn! What a show! What a Polka Pit! What a blast! Having been around the band for half of those 20 years has been a pleasure. You guys are the shite! Happy 20th (or was it the 21st? ;^). --gw Aaaah, what can I say? You'all blew the crowd away, as always. Woman came up and said she flew in from Austin, Texas just to catch Polkacide. She's bringing back the cd to prove polka can rock. So true. You guys still make the crowd breathe heavy (and not just because of dropped drawers!). So good to see all the gang. Bruno, John Lieb, Klaus, Bimpy, Vernon, Sarah, Gail, Mark, Jim, etc. etc. Missed some familiar faces. Hey Joan and Jessie! Where were you two? Last night was P-cide's finest so far. A tribute to the last 20 years. You guys are and always will be the best thing that ever happened to me. Kisses to all. (Just wish my husband spoke as fondly of OUR 20th as he did of Polkacide's!) much love, Polkamomma Ooowee, great show last night at Bottom of the Hill. Happy 20th! I must admit, I had my doubts about Ward's outfit at first, but then the show got going, and was still doubtful. o_O But thanks for the buttons at the end of the show, Impor!
ps: don't bring that Bruno guy back, he looks lousy in a dress. I am flying in from NYC to observe this momentous occasion. Fans unable to make the trek with me are asking whether it will be webcast live. You know, like the Victoria Secrets fashion show? I still say it's your 21st! Hi Gang-- We think you need to learn this song, which is currently #1 in Germany and has been for over a month (truth is stranger than fiction). It's a polka of sorts.

Cheers, Joan and Jesse Thanks to all the Polka Pals that came, saw and conquered the Polka Pit at 12 Galaxies! We love it when you polka! And howsa about those Dead Hensons? Having been born in 1932 and not owning a TV (I need to save all my money for beer) I'm not familiar with these Muppets of which they speak but I did thoroughly enjoy their swingin' set! Thanks again for your support and see you all in March for the 20th anniversary party!! You folks put on a GREAT show at the Twelve Galaxies on Friday night! I did as instructed and drank a moderate amount of beer, hopped around a bit, then went home in a fog. I can't remember much about what happened next, but I seem to remember playing with my wiener dog at some point...
-->S. Polkacide for my birthday!! What more could a girl ask for? Thanks for last night's show at the 12 Galaxies, but now I need more, and more, and more, and more. The only drawback was that with a broken foot I couldn't jump into the Polka Pit. Please play again soon! --winnie Hello polka brothers and polka sisters, So I have been a fan of Polkacide since 1986. They have caused many mornings of fat head, thick tongue and strange bed partners. I had the original Polkacide album, a friend took it with him on a move, he is now dead and I am without the album. I've been surviving on a very old taped version. Does anyone know how I may get my hands on a mp3 version of these Vunderfull songs? I am getting married this summer so I must have my polka! Polkamama, your living room has become THE venue. You should invite the public and start charging admission... Just kidding ;^) Love you guys and Happy Holidays!
Peace...

I am not a big fan of polka, I just went cuz my grandparents guilt-tripped me into going. The whole day kinda sucked, but it all turned around when Polkacide got onstage. I described your music to a friend as "add two parts polka, one part punk, and a 6-pack." You guys totally made my day. The only part I didn't like was that I couldn'y buy a polkacide shirt at the festival. Thanks again hello polkacide-
its been a long long time.
do you still care?
xoxo
muvvy Vote Polka. The ONLY Party. http://www.pdxpolka.com Sharon – No, thank you. Sorry to all for running late to the show last night, hopefully everyone had a chance to get liquored up and still have a good time. I thought the “Lonely Town” polka went well.
Johnny
thank you, thank you, thank you amazing Hawkeye - you silly twit, try checking the contact page and maybe just maybe you'll figure out my phone number. I do still have your card that I assume I got at Harrington's as I once again stumbled out of that great venue, See you on the 21st - I think it's time to POLKA It's been a LONG exile (I had to take a basket-weaving holiday), but I think the time has come to return to th' Polka Pit!! Yohnny Yack, where the ?!*&%$ ya been?? Haven't seen hide nor hair since I helped you steady yerself on the way outta Harrington's that time. Wanted to call as promised, but you AIN'T "in the book", but I spoze yer "off the hook"!
Lookin' forward to dancin' w/ Slutz Also, am gonna have to investigate these rumours of Rev Wade shaving his head, Niel Basa growing dreadlocks & everybody going clean & sober.... hi, im andrew, from pheonix AZ. and im the front man of another polka-punk group called "haunted cologne" and without you, i never would have seen the light.
i grew up playing the accordion, and listening to polkas,
but i moved on, and began the guitar, and what not,
i wanted a polka band, but now i was into punk.
i got "evtreme polka" and i was floored. i just thoght,

(alone with every one else on "extreme polka!!! i love you all!!!!)
thanks,
andrew.
oh, and also, i think you guys should come to AZ.
the music community here would love you.
and the money is damn good. One night damn near twenty years ago, I got to the club a little early. I paid my seven bucks at the door and went inside to wait for the Dead Kennedys to hit the stage. I bought a beer and looked around to see if anybody I knew was there. It looked like a typical DK crowd but I didn't recognize anybody. Then I heard the typical crowd noise that means the band is hitting the stage. So I went in and was confronted by some sort of freak show on stage. This one dude had metal spikes coming out of his bald head. There was a chick with curlers in her hair. There was a guy I'd swear I saw passed out in an alley five minutes earlier. But what scared me was the accordian. I was about to be subjected to music that featured an accordian!! I thought I should run away quickly before the music started but with a 'ready on the left. ready on the right' it was too late. Then I was transfixed. This music was pretty good. No, it was great. I grew up with Polka. My Polish relatives listened to Polka. I hated Polka. But this was Polka like I'd never heard before. I wasn't sure what to do so I pounded my beer, threw the cup in the trash and jumped into the mosh pit. The next day I bought the Polkacide album at Rasputins in Berkeley. I recorded the album on a cassette and drove around in my 1979 Volkswagon listening to it at full blast and enjoying the sideways glances people would give me when they heard it. I wore out that tape after a few years but I made another. Today I drive around in my 2002 Mercedes still listening to it at full blast and still enjoying the sideways glances I get when people on the street hear it. I figured that like many a great bands over the years, Polkacide was no more. Tonight I got a wild hair and typed polkacide into my search engine and got to this website. You have no idea how happy I am right now to find out that the Polka is still alive. I can still see Polkacide live. People don't suck after all! Life is still worth living!! Because I can still commit Polkacide!!! Hey Hey My My. Polkacide will never die! We're Polka-holics. We love you guys. Keep bangin' that accordian, baby! My cousin Josh Joshua Josherston loves you guys. You're his inspiration, and you are our idols. You are my shining star. To those of you about to polka, we salute you! here's a heads up for a killer band that Polkacide fans should see at all costs!!! Gogol Bordello are a gypsy, punk, thrash, folk, insane band. Seriously, don't miss out on these nutbags. check out their site.

The best of world fusion. When will you tour us here in Finland! Soumen tango vs. Polka. Kaikki on hyvin! Hey, I heard a rumor you guys are going to record another CD soon. Is it true? Can it be? When can I get some? Me want POLKACIDE CDs Oy Vey! It seems that I missed yet another gig. Still having transportation issues, thanks to my motorcycle getting totaled in June. :(
Hope to see y'all before the year ends... Well, we had a Polka pals gathering in Portland without you. Bummer that you didn't have the venue after all. Look for a photo soon of lots of Polkacide shirts (taken in front of the stage with Carl, Bubba, Jeffrey and the rest taking down their stuff). So my niece and nephew are old enough for their own Polkacide t-shirts. Got anything in size four- and three-year-old? Please say you'll play many wonderful show this summer in SF Bay Area?! I haven't seen Polkacide in years and am fiending horribly. Please help! What would we do without Polkacide??? I think you should play in Junction City Oregon! That's where Hedwig played! Or is that Junction City, Kansas? Anyway, I'm here, and really good tofu and bacon is at the Keystone... MMMMM!
Jennifer Touring - I vote for Lancaster, PA. Why: 1. The Chameleon (www.chameleonclub.net) is a good place to play - they book everything from local punk bands to Brave Combo and get good crowds for them. 2. I used to live there. 3. They really need you. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come east! Lovely Z and I caught the show 5/25 and godz allmighty what a great time it was. Still can't wipe the smile offa my face. All blessings upon you. Hope you didn't rebreak that hand on the cieling. If you did...more beer! Thanks for making our trip a trip! $7 two bands, free dinner, and moshPolka. Life is good :) gnashing of teeth, pulling of hair...it was wonderful!!! just got back from yer show at the bottom. can't stop the feeling of needing more polka in my life. it's good to know you are there. much love, toby I heard you guys at the sisters' Easter picnic at Dolores Park on Easter Sunday.... I know it's a little late, but I'm in Cleveland right now, just visited the Polka hall of fame and I thought, where is polkacide? You're the best! Can't wait till next year! see you soon! Seattle! That's the place to play every year! Close to Portland OR. And cute girls here! Always a great show w/ you all on stage! Oh and w/ us in the audience! Great times to be had by all...!!!!! Remember... Vote for Seattle!!!! We love you here! Why haven't you guys been nominated for a Grammy award? The Polka category can't be very competitive. Get it together and go for it! You should come to Kansas City! You would be a big hit at the Grand Emporium. I love what I've heard so far... come to baltimore! me and my pack of ruffians would lay out the red carpet. maybe you could consider playing "Blob's Park and Bavarian Beir Garten" while you're here. we could talk about putting together a FESTIVAL O'POLKA. it would really be fun. OK little Polka Pals, lets do a little poll.
Outside of the Bay Area - where should we plan a little tour. Tell us why should we pick your pick? Money? Cool event? wanna get laid - whatever.
Remember a lot of us would rather sit on our asses than go anywhere and we can only do a couple of weeks out of the year, so sell us on your pick.
If this works, maybe we can make this an annual poll. Hi Ward!
I assuming you don't remember me but it is worth to te racall those days .
Last summer ? Chicago concert in Zakopane Lounge and Evin's in Evanston with the Polkaholics ???
Patrycja - blond Girl from Poland , dancing crazy , to Polka tunes !
I just wanted to ask when are you Guys playing the next show , you web site doens't give ny more deatails . any plans for th future ?
My plans have been established since that Chicago show last July .... at that concert I met Erik .... and we got married month ago in Las Vegas style !
It is very true that Polka brings people together , isn't it ???
Any way ..... " don't let the Polka die " ( as the Polkaholics used to sing ) and keep all the fans posted ..... about new show coming up ???
hugs
Patrycja
Ah, another year, another plea to the Polka gods to bring the hallowed Polkacide troupe to the desert.
Call favors, pull strings, sell firstborn, post fliers, suggest venues - I'd do any of these things to bring about such a pilgrimage. Heck, such a stop would give you an excuse to stretch your legs and get out of the cabbage-gas-smelling tour bus for a bit as you Polka from sea to shining sea during the upcoming year.
In the meantime, I'll keep spinning the discs -- Kary in Phoenix Happy New Year to all the band members and their significant others and all the Polka Pals I've run into in the Polka Pit. Hope to see you all many times this year so we can DRINK BEER AND POLKA 'TIL WE PUKE!!!
